My favorite room at the Yankee Inn

I knew when I started writing this post, that I wanted it to be about my favorite room on the property, and as I began writing about the Queen Spa, room 111, I quickly erased what I wrote because I realized that I liked theroadside King Firespa, room 102 better, or was it the gas-burning Firespa room 316 that I liked? As I began each new post I realized that there were several one-of-a-kind rooms in our hotel worth mentioning, and that an all-inclusive post of a list of unique favorites was in order.

So I’ll start in order of room number. The Firespa in 102 made the list for a few reasons. One of which is the entranceway. There is a front door, a short hallway, then the room. It provides a place to wipe your feet, take off your coat and shoes before entering the hardwood floored, extraordinarily large, Jacuzzi room, with a wood burning fireplace.

This room typically does not sell first because it is close to the road, and the bay window looks directly at route 7. I lived on a ship for a few months, and was docked next to a train station, so road noise is not an issue for me, and I absolutely love the feel of this room.

The Queen spa is the only room with a Jacuzzi, and without a fireplace. It costs less than the King Jacuzzis do, and is a comfortable size. The King Firespa in 316 is the only room with a gas fireplace and a Jacuzzi. Low maintenance, and for those that have a wood burning fireplace at home, and already know all too well how much “fun” it is constantly stoking and tending a wood fire, this offers a nice easy alternative. Another huge advantage of this room is that it is in the hotel section and there is no need to walk outside to get to breakfast, use the pool, or go to the bar and lounge. I hope that my input  will encourage you to choose one of them.
