Only a short drive up route 7 from the Yankee Inn into Pittsfield is the brand new Pittsfield Skate Plaza. Over the years the Berkshire’s skateboarders and bikers have had to suffer through either badly planned skate parks or no skate parks at all.
However, this past fall the city of Pittsfield got on the right track and built the best skate park in the Berkshires. The Pittsfield Skate Plaza was designed with the help of local skaters and bike riders, giving suggestions throughout the entire planning process. The result is a park with a great flow, and something for everyone of any skill level. If you’re in the area with a skateboarding or BMX enthusiast, be sure to visit the Skate Plaza.
