The month of April has many great things to offer the Berkshires. Not only is the spring weather amazing but there are plenty of things to do outside, like seeing the baby animals at Hancock Shaker Village. Starting a day before Easter, April 7th until April 29th there will be baby lambs, piglets, calves, goats, ducklings, and chick
s at the Shaker Farm. Bring just yourself or your little ones to meet and greet the baby animals any day of the week from 10am to 4pm. Hancock Shaker Village is a great place to learn and there are twenty different buildings on sight to explore. During April, the start of the opening season, you will be given a map of the Village and a schedule of activities that are happening that day. Not only can you learn how things are made but buy them too. There is a Village shop where you can browse or purchase a variety of handmade crafts, books, furniture, and gifts! If you are planning to stay for a full day you could bring a lunch or eat at the Village Harvest Café which is also on sight, serving continental breakfast, lunch and take-out picnics. Hancock Shaker Village is located at 34 Lebanon Mountain Rd., Hancock, MA 01237. Or for GPS purposes, enter, 1843 W. Housatonic St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 then proceed 1/2 mile further West on Rt. 20 to the parking lot.
