live music pittsfield ma One of my favorite things about summer is attending as many concerts as possible.  I don’t care if it’s a big name act in a 3,000 seat theater or a local band playing to 25 people at bar… I just love live music.  For the past few summers, however, the city of Pittsfield has been putting on a weekly summer concert series at Onota Lake called “Live on the Lake.”

Live on the Lake is held Wednesday evenings at Onota Lake’s Burbank Park and showcase some of Berkshire County’s very talented musicians.  The lineup changes every week to add some variety to the mix.  Some weeks you’ll see cover bands such as Who Are You that does strictly covers by The Who.  Other acts, like Tony Lee Thomas, do a good mix of original songs and cover songs.

But the great part to Live on the Lake is getting to hear awesome live music with great scenery.  Many people swim throughout the show while others will hang out on a boat on the lake and enjoy the sounds from there.  If you really don’t want to be around a large crowd of people, but still want to enjoy the music there are plenty of spots to jump in the water or go fishing while remaining undisturbed.

So when you stay with us during the summer and you’re looking for something fun to do on a Wednesday evening, go check out Live on the Lake.  It’s definitely a great way to spend a Wednesday evening in the Berkshires.  Live music and a beautiful lake with the Berkshire hills in the background.  You can’t ask for anything better.
