Ye Olde Forge Restaurant
So, I have lived here for approximately a year and a half now, and of course have found and established my all time favorite places to dine at. Seems like an easy task, yet, the Berkshires offer endless amounts of fabulous, local eateries of various cuisines, making it difficult to choose. Despite the many options available in the area, one special place seems to appeal to me above the rest. The Ye Olde Forge Restaurant and Tavern has everything you’d expect from a local gem, and then some. I am definitely a beer fanatic, and loves pubs which feature drafts and imports from all over the world. Not only does the Forge have specialty drafts of the day, but a menu, no sorry BINDER, of local, foreign, and rare brews from all over the world! Of course as if the Forge’s massive beer selection was not enough to catch your interest, the food selection is excellent as well, including homemade soups, burgers, wings, pasta, and even a fresh salad bar. I personally love their wings, salad bar, and homemade french onion soup to go along with a delicious porter of the day.
Ye Olde Forge is a must visit restaurant during your stay with us, here at The Yankee Inn, and is rated top tier for local eateries of the beautiful Berkshires. Now for the part that gets really cool; The Forge has their own tradition to offer their guests. When you visit the Forge for the very first time, you have the option of starting your own beer card, which stays with the restaurant until your next visit. The waiter/waitress will log the specific beers which you ordered each visit, whether bottled or draft, and will keep the list filed for you while updating it each time you come. When the list reaches the goal amount of 50, The Forge sends an order out for their signature steins, and has their customer’s names engraved on them. The stein will stay in the tavern, and each time you visit you can order a beer in your special stein. Once you finish one card, there are other incentives including apparel, and gift certificates for each additional card filled.
